THIS IS POSTPARTUM 16.07.2022

Conceived from a deeply personal place, this project seeks to illuminate the raw, unfiltered beauty of postpartum bodies. It endeavors to unveil the profound narratives woven within the scars and stretch marks, emblematic of the remarkable journeys these bodies have embarked upon.

In a society often besieged by unattainable standards of beauty, "THIS IS POSTPARTUM" serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent beauty in every body. It is a celebration of authenticity and self-acceptance, underscoring the importance of embracing one's own skin.

Little Voice

Little Voice deep inside, calculating.
You can’t hide anymore, constipating my recovery. You are to be dragged to the fore
if you are able, and if not I shall spit you out
in tiny pieces, like pips from the core.

One step forward and two steps back.
I am a ant, going AWOL following my course that wants more. But Little Voice is black like death on a summer's day and worms In an apple's decay.

Little Voice will say, ‘should you really eat that, why so ugly’? As I peer so often at me.
Mirror as clear as day, forgiving, unforgiving depending on what Little Voice will say.

Turning, posing, breathing in, avoiding on my way. Drawn to reflections, changing directions to keep Little Voice at bay.

And I do not care for the thoughts of others, misunderstanding my recovery. I am forgiving, my voice is small like the buttery sigh of toast when touched by honey.

Not today, not today.
Not for love or money will it matter.
But I believe everything Little Voice will say.

Little voice I don’t hate you but Little Voice they say That when I find my Big Voice
then you have had your day.

WE ARE ONE 11/03/2023

“Our love feels like magic. I felt that magic coursing through my veins the second I first laid eyes on her. Sitting on the beach drinking rose, I couldn’t even look her in the eyes. It was windy and my skirt kept flying up and she held it down for me as we walked along and I knew then, she was the kindest sweetest…. She proved that to me a million times over in the next four years. Our love is about the little things, small moments packed to the brim with love. Its so easy. Loving each other exactly how we need to be loved and celebrating each other for everything we are, was and can be. Dancing around the living room to cheesy pop songs, coffee in bed on Sunday mornings and arriving home from work to a big hug. I have a best friend and the most beautiful person I have ever known all wrapped up into one. I have the world, moon and star and it feels so beautiful sometims I feel I could burst. Even on a bad day, even on a grey or boring day, she brings life and love to them all.” - Lucy

CELEBRATING LIFE AND AGE 10/02/2023

“Dear Diana,

Congratulations for getting to the age you are today. I used to hide my age as I was ashamed to tell people in case they thought less of me for being older. I now realise that there is no shame in getting older. In fact it is a privilege and honour to get older and be able to celebrate life as some do not have such a privilege.

I am proud to celebrate my age and my achievements. Since getting older I now care less of what others think and I have gained much more confidence. I see life is precious and short. I therefore do so much more and my life is very busy.

It’s important to keep healthy and be kind and continue to experience new things. To keep going and never give up on my dreams.” - Diana
